Wrong Child
This is a songfic for Doned to the tune of REM's Wrong Child.
Well, Try to enjoy!
(I've watched the children come and go. They leap long and march in the spring. I sit and watch those children jump in the tall grass. Leap the sprinkelers, walk in the ground, bycicle clothes, pin spokes, sound the smell, swingset hands.)
Doned sits in his wheelchair, staring out the window at Marche and his friends. The young boy sighs and wheels over to a corner.
(I will try to sing a happy song. I'll try to make a happy game to play.)
Doned sings a song they're father taught him before he died. Later on Doned plays Final Fantasy.
(Come play with me, I whispered to my newfound friend. Tell me what it's like to go outside. I've never been. Tell me what it's like to just go outside. I've never been, and I never will)
Doned turns to a small girl who has diabetes. The two of the play a game and Doned asked her what it's like to go outside and play. She stops talking.
(I'm not supposed to be like this.....But it's okay!)
Doned sighs and looks down at his dead legs.
(Hey those kids are looking at me, I told my friend myself. Those kids are looking at me, they're laughing and they're runnig over here. What do I do? What can I do? What should I do? What do I say? What can I say?)
Children run up to Doned and (let's call her) Dorothy. He begins to panic. She tells him to be calm and act natural.
(I said I'm not supposed to be like this.....Let's try to find a happy game....to play.....! Let's try to find a happy game to play........I'm not supposed to be like this, but it's okay! Okay!!)
He and the other children begin to play. They don't care that he's disabled, because they'res something wrong with each of them, too.
How? Review No Flame.
