Will and Lyra clasped their hands,

Cold and ghostly in the long, dark night.

The lovers gazed unable to believe their luck,

For they had met where all seemed lost.

The Harpies swirled and arched in the air,

Until Lyra waved them down again.

So they sat and told a story from afar,

Of fighting bears and a great big war.

The harpies were pleased and let them go,

They then crawled through a dank tunnel,

Never did they leave each other's eyes at all.

Lyra wondered at Will for one last time,

As they gripped hands and walked into the light.

A smile lit up Lyra's pale face,

She saw the paradise the Mulefa had made.

Will felt something tickle and looked behind,

He realised he had great majestic wings on his back.

He looked up and saw that Lyra had as well,

She looked up in the sea of sunlight,

Will thought she was the most beautiful creature alive.

Her deep brown eyes caught his and she laughed,

Will had never felt more alive.

They looped their arms and took off into the sun,

For at last they were together, forever.
