-This sets in at the end of chapter 57-
Desperate
Kahoko slumped on a nearby bench; her feet trembling furiously, her heart skipping a beat. This second felt like eternity.
'I'm going to study abroad, so we might never see each other again.'
His words echoed through her mind – now filled with pure emptiness, and she couldn't hold back the tears any longer. Her vision blurred and salty drops fell on her deep blue dress.
Len stiffened and turned around, he couldn't bear her sorrow. Facing her now would only complicate his inevitable decision. He stood there, in front of the ocean and watched the waves coming and going, repeating this procedure over and over, a never ending circle.
Normally their steady movement helped him calm down, but the mere sobs of the one and only girl he had ever respected resonated through each and every cell of his body and his cold armour was broken down in seconds.
He didn't know what to do; these emotions were new and frightening, something he only encountered in company of Kahoko. She was dangerous - turned his world upside down, but at the same time so damn appealing.
He turned around. These past few days he struggled telling her he would go abroad. Thinking about the reason why he just couldn't tell her, nothing came to his mind, except… The realization hit him with brute force.
"Kahoko... ", it was a mere whisper, but her gaze shot up immediately and locked with his, the moment his mouth opened - the teary depths glistening with new hope. He was captivated by them; this blood red was just too intense, he couldn't resist the urge to close the distance between them…
" Len? ..."
-to be continued-
He always had a good grasp of his feelings, he had everything under control, but tonight they went berserk. (His heart was crushed with an iron grasp.)
