This is just short poem I wrote about Vincent reflecting on his love with Lucrecia. The first ever poem I've written, but I enjoyed writing it and I hope you like it too.
Forever in Night
For
I live only to reflect.
Only
to regret.
Forever
to see my eyes met
With
the bittersweet neglect
That
your truest two reveal.
My
love is, was, the wildest black rose.
Untamed
it grew in your wake,
A
love of such dark intensity
That
none else made sense to me.
And
oft I pondered; would it be my love you take?
And
Doubts brought forth a stem of thorns
And
they would not let my heart ache,
Would
not let my heart break
For
You.
Too
often, did that prick of scarlet drip
From
your fingertip.
And
when as such soft kissing breezes, came each of your sighs,
That
they wore upon these sharpened defenses;
I
would cry
For
I knew,
I
knew but remain'd helpless to,
What
would become of You and I.
And
now, the rose has met the bitter frost of thine eyes,
It
wilts, and dies.
A
thousand satin tears fall to the wintry ground,
Black
on white.
Black
on white.
I
shatter into darkness so obscure,
I
cannot see the light,
I
cannot see light,
You
have left me forever in night.
You
have left me for always in night.
And
I cannot return.
