"Brothers and sisters!" shouted Magneto, addressing a large crowd, who one could safely assume to be mutants. "Today, we rejoice, as I declare us not to be simply Homo sapiens, for we are nothing like them. We are superior, therefore we are homo superior!"

A hand went up near the back of the crowd. Magneto, being suddenly interrupted in his long-planned speech, looked irritated but gestured for the other to speak up.

"Ok, so let me get this straight. You're officially declaring us to be a different species because of our differences with non-mutants?"

"Yes, I believe that was quite clear," Magneto replied.

"Right. Ok. Um. So would you say that a mutant and a non-mutant would be able to have kids barring extenuating circumstances – just hypothetically?"

"I… yes I suppose so."

"And would you say that those children would be able to go on and have their own children?"

"Yes."

"Ok. That is literally the definition of being in the same species – being able to produce fertile offspring."

"It's to represent the irreconcilable differences between mutant-kind and humankind that make us superior," said Magneto.

"So… you're basically saying that social factors are making us different species."

"This goes beyond mere social factors, this-"

"Yeah, good luck with that, I'm not sticking around a guy that doesn't get the basic concept of speciation. Not to mention that X-gene bullshit."

A/N: I am aware this isn't very accurate to the franchise. I know this because I haven't read the comics and last saw an X-Men movie in 2013. So if you're going to pick on that, please don't.
