Chapter 1: Sakura's Mission
"Sakura the reason why I called you is for something very important."
"But Lady Tsunade can't Naruto or someone else do it. I've been running errands for you all week. You said everyone has a week off, but I've only had 3 days because I've been doing things for you."
"But this time it's not an errand… alright, if you do this last thing for me I'll increase your vacation by 4 days so that you can catch up on everything you missed. How does that sound?
"Alright, I'll do it, but not because you're adding extra days to my vacation, but because I don't want you to be disappointed."
"Alright that's good Sakura. Now you know who the Akatsuki is right?"
"Yeah, I know them; I'd sure hate to encounter them though."
"Sakura I know they're a nasty bunch and no one wants to fight them but I'm worried about something. See the problem is they always launch attacks on Konoha and even you know that. But we haven't even seen a sign of anything of them for a very long time. What could they be planning, I don't know, but someone has to find out, and that someone… is you."
"But isn't that kind of dangerous, snooping around looking for a fight… with the Akatsuki?"
"NO…no, no, no… you are not to fight them at all, do you understand that, all you are to do is to collect info, and investigate anything out of the ordinary at their hideout. Are you going to need help or backup?"
"No… at least I don't think so… all I'm doing is investigating unordinary things at their hideout, what's the worst that can happen?"
"Alright then… you'll leave at midnight, I don't want anyone finding out I sent you on a secret mission."
"Why do I have to leave midnight, that's dangerous, I COULD DIE!"
"I had that all figured out already, you're leaving midnight because it'll take you all night and then some to get there. So you'll arrive in the morning give or take. You're a big and strong girl and with the training I put you through of 2 years you should be able to take care of yourself. Am I right? Or you just can't handle this mission because it's an A-rank mission that's why I selected you.
"I'm not even a Jounin, only a Chuunin. But I can handle it."
"Alright then good bye Sakura, I wish you the very best luck."
"Good bye Lady Tsunade, I won't let you down."
Sakura walked out of Tsunade's office.
…
Sakura met up with her friends later on.
"Hey, Sakura where were you?" asked Naruto
She had to think fast.
"Lady Tsunade told me not to tell, why?"
"Uhhh, I was just at home, I was looking for something, but I didn't find it.'
"Oooh, good luck next time, do you want to come to the training field with us?"
"No."
"Alright… see ya later.
"Bye."
Sakura looked rather sad that she couldn't join her friends. Tenten noticed and walked over to Sakura.
"Hey, what's bothering you, you look so sad."
"Nothing, really I'm fine."
"Well if you say so."
Sakura watched her friends walk away happy and full of life, while she stood there feeling dull and excluded from all the fun.
…
It was 11:59 P.M. Sakura had gotten no sleep at all, she was too worried.
"Even though I'm only investigating at the Akatsuki's hideout, what if I run into one of them, I doubt I could hold my own in a fight against any of them. But it's too late to turn down this mission."
Sakura tied her headband on, picked up a picture of her with all her friends on it and smiled at it then she put it back down, and opened her door to leave her apt.. She stepped out and looked back inside.
"My last look inside at all the joys of living in Konoha incase I don't return."
She closed her door and started walking out of the walls of Konoha.
…
Sakura was getting tired of traveling. She had been doing so for 7 hours all ready and she felt like she wasn't getting any closer to the Akatsuki's hideout.
…
It was around 8 in the morning and then Sakura saw it. It was a gigantic hideout that was red and black. Also she saw the Akatsuki's logo bold and large on the hideout, a red cloud with white outlining.
"Wow, this place is huge. I could get lost so I've got to be extremely careful no matter what. I've also got to be smart, so instead of taking the front entrance I'll take the back entrance."
Sakura hopped to the top of the hideout then dropped down to the ground behind it. She saw the back entrance and she gulped. She took a few steps forward.
"This is it, now I'm in enemy territory."
Sakura stepped into the hideout and as soon as she was in all she could see was black and darkness.
"What type of place is this, there's no light only dark, maybe I should turn back."
With each step further and further into the hideout Sakura felt as if she was getting into more danger.
"Maybe I should turn back, I mean it's not too late, I could get caught by someone."
She tried to travel through the darkness but it was difficult because she couldn't see where she was going. But finally what seemed like a forever came; she felt something that felt like a door, it was. She turned the knob slowly and opened it, hoping it wouldn't creak and make noise. She didn't' want to bring any attention to herself. She was lucky, the next room had light. She walked along not knowing where she was going. From walking she went into a quick and quiet jog. Hallway after hallway she went through…no sign of the Akatsuki at all.
"Maybe no one's here."
Just when Sakura thought no one was around she heard 2 voices. She stopped right in her tracks. She peeked around the corner and saw the two in a nearby room. They weren't talking about anything suspicious. One of the two had red hair and the other had a yellow ponytail and a robotic eye.
"Sasori and Deidara."
They were only talking about a new position they were put in.
"I'm just glad we've been raised a level… lord Pein rarely increases anybodies rank."
"That's true; the last time he did that was years ago."
"This is boring, they're only talking about their ranks, I've gotta get a move on."
Sakura kept moving on. She was in another hall when a hand grabbed and clutched her shoulder. She turned around and her heart sank to the bottom of her stomach and she began to feel queasy. Standing right in front of her was a tall Akatsuki member who towered over her completely. She didn't know who this one was but he had gray hair and a rather traumatizing sneer and a very long scythe that was about 10ft from top to bottom. He said:
"Your coming with me."
