An: I don't know how great I am with poetry. I've never really tried. I know this is a slight surprise. . . I'm actually writing something serious. Well, here goes.

Fighting Ice With Ice

You cannot fight fire with fire

But you can fight ice with ice

I have begun to tire

Of this game of cats and mice

I have sat by, awaiting my time

But that was before I fought ice with ice

Now I am ready, in my prime

Ready to stop playing nice

The freezing rain is icy cold

Filled with ice to fight with ice

But I am frigid, now I'm bold

Through endless days, arctic winds slice

For this awful game I will be strong

I will grit my teeth and fight ice with ice

I will not give in no matter how much I long

I will not be tempted, will not be enticed

To survive I will have the skill

The skill to fight ice with ice

Fortune won't save me, just strength smarts and will

There's no luck involved, no roll of the dice

There must be an end

I cannot forever fight ice with ice

Already my will has begun to bend

'Hang in there' seems to be bad advice

At some point I will expire

But I did tell you once, twice

You cannot fight fire with fire

But you can fight ice with ice

So I hoped you liked it. If it's a piece of crap, let me know. I don't mind deleting my work. Really, let me know. REVIEW!
