A star for Christmas
By Tigsey
I hang my coat up in the first bar
There is no peace that I've found so far
The laughter penetrates my silence
As drunken men find flaws in science
It was Christmas Day.
Ethan had to work and so did Alicia,
Cal was at their dads house back in Huddersfield celebrating Christmas.
Robyn and Louise were the nurses working alongside Charlie and Duffy who always spent their Christmas's at work. It was quiet in the ed, only two patients were in cubicles, Alicia and Ethan were alone at the nurses station, barely talking.
Their words mostly noises
Ghosts with just voices
Your words in my memory
Are like music to me
The sparks between them were like fireworks just waiting to be lit, "oh I have your present" Ethan smiled at Alicia whilst fishing in his pocket. He pulled out a small package before handing it over
Alicia unwrapped it, then opened the small box. It was a star Necklace, with something engraved on the back. She read it to herself
"Out of all the stars in the sky, my favourite one is on earth... that star is you"
Ethan watched Alicia tear up,
"thank you so much, it's beautiful" she whispered before hugging him.
"I have your present too!" Alicia smiled.
She pretended to look around then kissed Ethan lightly on the lips before pulling away "Merry Christmas" she whispered before walking away
Ethan wanted to go after her
Alicia stopped halfway down the corridor, she wanted to go back.
Robyn, Louise, Duffy and Charlie were watching the drama unfold from a distance whilst hidden behind the curtains in cubicles.
I'm miles from where you are
I lay down on the cold ground
I pray that something picks me up
And sets me down in your warm arms
Alicia felt her feet taking her back to Ethan, she was running almost.
Ethan felt himself to be drawn back to Alicia he walked towards where she went, then came face to face with her with only a few steps in between them.
They walked towards each other and got nose to nose, with their hands on each others cheeks and then it happened, their lips met they kissed passionately, not parting for air until 5 minutes later. Charlie and Duffy watched on like proud parents whilst Robyn and Louise fangirled happily.
