For the Love of my Cat
Kenji Tsukia
Long ago before the times of Christ, before even the Roman Empire and the great Cleopatra; Within the magnificent sands of the desserts, in
Eygpt where magic gods and gods still reined, there is a place called Bubastis. It was wonderful and magical place for those who thought
differently tothose who were of the norm so to speak. Unlike Thebes where Osiris and Isis were worshipped, Bastet was the one and only deity.
She represented duality. She was the sun and the moon, the nurturer and yet the fierce protector. She was light and darkness. It was wonderful
time and peaceful time, we ruled by our gracious Pharaoh Amunu and Queen Priestess Nefertia. All was well except for one for one fact. For years
the Pharaoh and Queen tried for a child only to be disappointed in tragedy. Every night by the moon the queen would go to pray to Bastet she
would take the white lotus as she placed it on her stomach and pray:
O blessed mother of the night Guardian and mother to all I ask that you bless me with a child of thy own. To watch and protect as thee would. To continue the ways of acceptance that you have made, O great lioness I ask you bless me with a child that is worthy of thee nameā¦
Then when all hope seemed lost a miracle happened. Nefertia was blessed with child and Prince Kavair Mihos was born. All Bubastis rejoiced, well
almost everyone, there was one not happy about the young ones birth Apep, the king's royal consort. He was very vile and manipulative old man
. Meld into the old ways of religion he believed it was a sin for what were doing and out right wrong. He had hoped this madness would die with
Amunu and Bubastis along with it, but now Prince Kavair was here.
