I don't own Buffy and stuff. Don't sue me :P Enjoy!
There was something after her and, for some reason, she was running like hell to get away from it. She cursed briefly as she stumbled over a root that was poking out of the ground on quite a disturbing angle. Falling forwards, she caught herself in a dive roll and pushed back up onto her feet, landing face-first into the man in front of her.
"Buffy," he said, his voice sad. Why was he always so damn depressing?
"Hey Angel, my buddy," Buffy said, giving him a friendly punch on the shoulder. "Sup?"
Angel stared at her long and hard, trying to decipher what was wrong.
"That's not creepy at all," Buffy said, turning away from him and walking into Spike, who happened to have been behind her.
"Hello pet," he greeted her.
"Whatevs," Buffy said in return. "You dudes know I, like, have a life, right?"
They both stared at her. Then they stared at each other.
That was when Xander burst out of some bushes.
"I knew it!" he yelled triumphantly. "I knew you were hanging out with vamps behind my, urm… our backs."
"What?" Buffy said, eyebrows furrowing.
"And how is it any of your business?" Spike asked Xander.
"I was actually hoping to speak to Buffy alone…" Angel put it, but no one was really listening.
"Like that's likely to happen," Spike told him.
"Well, I–"
"Buffy's going to come with me now," Xander announced.
"I've just about had it with you," Spike said and, without further argument, bit Xander on the neck and killed him.
"Hmm…" Buffy said to herself. "I'm not sure if I like this."
"Are you okay, Buffy?" Angel asked, worried as always. Why was he always so worried?
"I'll take care of her now, you poof," Spike interjected, grabbing Buffy's arm. Angel grabbed her other arm. Then they both began pulling.
"Everybody wants a piece of Buffy!" Buffy laughed to herself. "Ow," she said suddenly. "Like, let go now. You're hurting me!"
"You let go!" both Spike and Angel said in unison. Then they yanked harder.
"THAT'S IT!" Buffy exclaimed, breaking free and wrenching some cleverly hidden stakes out of her pockets. "Go to hell! Both of you!"
And she staked them both. Spike had a look of horror on his face, but Angel just looked sad, as usual.
Buffy wiped her hands on her jeans and wandered into the forest, where Riley was waiting.
"Buf—"
"Oh, piss off!" she told him, sounding bored. "I can't be bothered with you."
"But, Buffy!"
"Go away!" She turned on him, snarling, and then she woke.
She was in her bed, a cold sweat breaking out on her skin.
"What in the world…?" She hung her head in her hands and thought over her dream. It was a strange one. She had been acting so oddly. Angel was pretty annoying though, she could understand her staking him. His merits in bed couldn't even be counted in his favour. Not like with Spike, where that was the only thing weighing in his favour.
"What am I even thinking?" Buffy pinched herself. "Ouch!"
