The small child, tired and restless traveled the streets looking for a suitable place to stay. What she came upon looked the least bit inviting. It was a large house but its aura was dark and uninviting. Despite the evil aura, the girl knocked on the door, waiting for anybody to let her in. After what felt like ten minutes, a sound could been heard as the door slowly creaked open and what stood at the door was a teen around 13 years old, slightly older than the girl, with a widows peak and hair that seemed to defy gravity. With an annoyed snort, the boy attempted to close the door but the girls disapproving eye stopped him from doing so. Nothing was more important to the boy than pride and this girl dared challenged it. The boy soon turned and walked away leaving the door wide open, a sign that the girl was allowed to enter. With slow, calculating steps, the girl entered the house being careful as to not disturb any of the other residences. The boy had no clue as to why he let this strange girl in his house, but something about her caught his eye.
No more than 5 minutes had the girl been at his home. No greetings or personal information were shared, just the sturdy looks that each of the children were giving to the other. Soon after, a knock could be heard coming from the door; the boy suddenly seemed to panic as if scared that a dark secret would come out in the open. The truth was that his father was at the door, a father who disapproved of any outsiders and kept his son isolated in this dreary house. The boy told the girl to go up stairs and into the room to the right and hide under the bed. The girl followed orders having no other choice but to listen.
The boy was scared. His father always knew when he disobeyed orders and this would probably be no exception. As he opened the door, he found his father's gaze scan the room then land back on him before he was quickly dragged to his room. Somehow, the father managed to notice the two impressions in the seat and decided to punish the boy for his insolence. He beat the boy, something that felt like hours to the boy but actually only ten minutes. When his father left the room, he felt the urge to cry but held it back because of the sake of his pride. Slowly, the girl rose from her position under the bed and gently, approached the boy. When the boy looked up he saw a hand, a friendly one which he kindly took. As they shook hands, the girl said "Hi, I'm Bulma, nice to meet you; I hope we can become friends." The boy was astonished, he never had a friend before, no, he never been around another person before. With a friendly smile, his first smile in a long time, the boy said "I'm Vegeta." The two became the best of friends, but their friendship was limited. Though they lived through the others comfort, they always had to be careful of boundaries. They had secret meeting and the girl was allowed to stay in Vegeta's secret hide out which took twenty minutes to travel to. Through this all, Vegeta didn't dare cross his father, well, not until he was strong enough.
