A/N: Okay! So this idea came to me when I was reading the manga. Poor Watanuki! Anyways I hope you enjoy!
Definition: 'Friendship'
Watanuki knew that he wasn't popular. Hell, there were only a few people who associated with him, and even fewer people who he could call friends. That was what made those few so special to him. And most of all, his Himawari-chan.
Ah, yes! His sweet, cute and darling Himawari-chan! She was the only girl (other than Yuuko's clients - and Yuuko was no girl herself) who would talk to him openly without trying to completely avoid him. Afterall, the supposed madman, who was always talking to himself and yell out at nothing was not going to get him liked.
But sweet Himawari-chan was above all that!
It was proberly the whole reason why he liked her so much. She didn't care that he was different, and that he worked for an insane woman who constantly threw him out at mosters and such on 'missions'. No, she was a true friend, always smiling and showing him the kindness he hadn't recieved since his parents had died.
In that way, she was very special to him.
Of course, Doumeki just had to come into the picture. Their 'friendship' (if it can be called that) revolved around a hate-unsaid appreciation level that was proberly just as strange as his 'work'.
Watanuki would never admit it (let alone to himself) that he did kinda think of the archer as a friend. Afterall, the jerk was always saving him, helping him, and although he never said anything (other than what meal he wanted) it was obvious that Doumeki considered him a friend also. And to add salt to injury, so-to-speak, Watanuki would also never admit that he apprecited the company quiet archer bestowed (afterall, Doumeki was one of the most popular people at school, and to hang out with one of the most unpopular was a risk to the guys reputation).
In a way, Himawari-chan and the jerk Doumeki were the best friends he had ever had - the only best friends he had ever had. And deep, deep down. He was greatful. He was happy.
And he just wished that Yuuko would get off his back about wanting more alcohol.
