She spread wide her watery wings as her eyes returned to their former glory, no longer a reflection of others, but rather a reflection of her soul. She bid the young boy farewell as she leaped from the oceanic spire, leaving it to crumble without her as she began the interstellar journey to homeworld.

She soared through the cosmos, her dress flowing as her voice echoed through the vacuum, "gems!" She called out, "it's Lapis! I'm coming home!" She saw stars being born and stars dying, she saw supernovas and black holes, but the one thing she didn't see, was another gem.

She learned very quickly that in the emptiness of space, one has a lot of time to think. And typically in the emptiness of space, one's thoughts turn to a time when their life was less empty, and that's exactly what the blue girl did. As she rested on a small asteroid and looked out at the stars, she saw a glow, a bright pink glow unlike any bright pink glow she had ever seen, except for one that is. "Oh Steven," she whispered to herself, "why were you so kind? Why were you with those other gems if you weren't like them? Why wouldn't you want to come with me?" She asked the bright pink glow as she slammed her hand against the asteroid.

As she sat in silence on the desolate rock she realized that her wings were getting larger, that somehow there was more water nearby that was being added. She scrambled up and began to search the rock desperately for the source of the water. She looked through the entire asteroid before the truth began to set in, the water that was being added, was from her tears.

In anger and sadness she leapt from the asteroid, continuing her long journey home. She kept like this for days, flying in sadness and silence, with only thoughts of Steven to keep her going on her pilgrimage to homeworld. After what felt like eons, she could finally see it off in the horizon, or she would of had space had a horizon to speak of. She flapped her little watery wings as hard as she could, growing them larger with every passing second as tears of happiness mingled with those of sadness and anger, until she finally touched down on the surface. "I did it Steven," she said to herself, "I made it."
