You can't breathe.

It's pulling you under with its dark current, pulling and twisting you until you've lost yourself in it. You try to fight, but with every hit it takes it gives twice as much. It thrives off of your resistance, ridicules you until you start to question why you're even trying.

And they're watching, you know they're watching but they don't know what they're seeing. Their optimism blinds them to your suffocation. You're suppose to save them, that's what you've always done. But now you're the one who needs saving and the heroes have to learn what it means to be a savior. What you have to sacrifice when you stop focusing on yourself.

It pulls you, this darkness, it drowns you in its embrace.

Your lungs are already full when they finally reach out their hand.
