Darcy had been having sleepless nights lately. He'd seen her videos and she seemed like she wanted to talk to him again - especially after she found out about what he'd done for Lydia. Not that he'd done it for Lydia in particular. Except he didn't know how to talk to her, or where they'd even start. Oh, crap, this whole thing was a mess.

Gigi didn't seem to think so, her words still echoed around his head.

"It's really very simple, William. You call her."

Except it wasn't, was it?

It was 3am now. Why couldn't he just stop thinking about her? He'd given her his number when they'd last seen each other, but he didn't think she'd call. After all, they weren't….friends.

Ugh.

Later that morning, Darcy sat in a meeting surrounded by men all older than him, but all looking for direction from him. It was one of those moments where he just wanted to get up from his chair and walk out. He just wondered how the hell he got here. Not that he didn't love it, because he definitely did. It was just one of those days. Those days were appearing way more often in his life than before.

He asked Martin to pitch his idea and then sat back and listened as the flame-haired man went on and on about something that Darcy didn't quite catch the name of. His mind was already off somewhere else. Again.

Suddenly, his phone started buzzing. Being pulled out of his reverie, Darcy quickly tapped 'reject call'. He didn't usually leave his phone on for meetings and he felt embarrassed that he'd forgotten today.

He glanced down at the screen to see the red 'Rejected Call' notification flashing on the screen, accompanied by a name.

Lizzie Bennet.

Crap.

"Um, excuse me, Martin, continue, I've just got to return this call really quickly – your pitch sounds brilliant so far!"

Martin looked a bit taken aback, but Darcy had no time to even think. She….she called him. He left the room and went around the corner to his office, just as the '1 new voicemail' message popped up on his phone.

He tapped it, held it to his ear and listened to her voice.

"Hey…Darcy.. It's Lizzie. Um, when you have a sec, uhh, give me a call? I'd like to…chat?"

Darcy pressed '2' to return the call, before he even had a chance to think. She answered on the second ring.

"…Darcy?"

"Lizzie..I, er, got your voice message."

(That's the end… make up your own mind about their conversation! I'd love reviews, but also, I am not the boss of you. I hope you enjoyed it!)
