Effie sat on the couch of her empty apartment. She was watching some old TV Shows and eating a pot of ice cream. Without her make up on, wigs or any fancy clothes, the escort was only wearing a big dress shirt. Haymitch had left in the penthouse a few years ago and she had never returned to him.

Her cat Kitty, purred beside her when Effie stroked her little head. "You like that, huh?" She said softly. Suddenly the TV changes it images and President Snow was on-screen. "Oh Kitty, I totally forgot about the announcement of the Third Quarter Quell!" Effie said cheerful as President Snow pulled a card and read it.

"On the seventy-fifth anniversary, as a reminder to the rebels that even the strongest among them cannot overcome the power of the Capitol, the male and female tributes will be reaped from their existing pool of victors." As soon he said it, the TV went blank.

Effie couldn't breathe. This can't be happening. Katniss will go back to the arena. After all she had been through, she will go back. But that wasn't what was worrying her. The only person she could think about now was the reason she became an Escort and never asked a transfer. Haymitch Abernathy has a change to go back in Games.

Quickly, Effie grabbed her phone and dialed the number she knew by heart. It was a long time until it was answered. "What?" Said the gruffly voice.

"Haymitch, it's me. Did you saw what Snow said?" She was in panic; speaking too fast and her voice was a few tunes higher. "They can't do that, Haymitch. I just got them alive out of there. My first Victors. He can't take them away from me. He can't!" She was already crying. "Oh God, what if I reap you? I won't stand myself, you can't go back!" She sobbed.

"Calm down, Princess. We're not sure if I'm going back. You have to keep calm." He said softly.

"But I am the one who is going to reap them, you!" Effie half screamed, half cried.

"He can do that, Effie. He's the President, he have been murdering children for seventy-five years. Now breathe, we can't talk about his on the phone, remember? Someone might be listening."

"Ok." She said with a weak voice. "I'm so scared, Haymitch."

"I know, Princess. But you have to stay strong, keep the appearance. You have to pretend that everything is fine. Not for me, nor for Peeta and Katniss. But for them. Can you do that?" He said calmly and soft while sipping his bottle of liquor.

"Yes." Effie barely spoke, she was cleaning her tears on the sleeves of the shirt.

"Look, I gotta go. Katniss is in my front porch. Seen you soon, Princess."

"Ok." She almost hang up when she called him again. "Haymitch?"

"Yeah."

"I love you."

He took a deep breath and answered "I love you, too."
