Emma struggled up the front steps; hands full of groceries, one child slung on her hip, and the other clinging to her skirt. She tried to open the door and realized that it just wasn't going to work. She turned down to her daughter.

"Olivia, sweetie, do you think you could let go for just a minute, and ring the doorbell for mommy, please?"

Emma had been trying to get the little girl to detach from her skirt for the whole afternoon, which was spent running errands, but she wouldn't let go. Instead of the pouty expression Emma expected in reply, the little girl's face lit up.

Emma chuckled at how amusing ringing a doorbell could be for a 4 year old as Olivia rushed forward and pushed the small round button.

…...…...…...…...…...

Will was surprised to hear the doorbell ring at 7 in the evening. He hadn't expected anyone and he thought, for sure, it couldn't be Emma and the kids because she would have just let herself in. He left the pasta dish he was preparing for dinner and made his way to the door. A smile spread across Will's face as he saw his family on the other side through the peep hole. He cracked open the door.

"I don't want to buy whatever you're selling, thank you" and he closed the door.

He heard a few giggles and then a "Daddy its me" before fully opening the door and almost losing his balance because of a speeding bundle of sandy blonde curls which attacked his legs. He patted Olivia's hair as he kissed Emma and then took the groceries from her arms to the kitchen to get back to making dinner. Emma walked into the living room, spread a blanket on the floor and put Adalyn down, with a sigh. Her arms were finally empty. She walked up behind Will and wrapped her arms around his stomach, resting her head on his back. He responded by turning around and giving her a sweet kiss, which ended quickly when Olivia interrupted them.

"Yucky", the little girl said as she ran giggling out of the room.

They both laughed and Will proceeded to chase after her, catch her and tickle her, "Yucky is right", he replied.

Will picked up his daughter and planted a kiss on top of her curls.

"Do you want to help mommy set the table, Olivia?"

The little girl smiled, "Okay, Daddy"

Dinner was uneventful. Olivia got food all over her face, but Will and Emma just laughed. When they were finished eating, Emma turned to Addie, whose hands and face were covered with mashed peas.

"Why are my kids such messy little eaters?" Emma giggled.

She had come a long way from her problems with OCD and Mysophobia, and though messes still made her uncomfortable, she hardly noticed them around Will and her children.

Emma cleaned up Adalyn who was smiling at the mess she had made while Will was finishing clearing the table.

"You can hardly speak and you already know when you're being naughty", Emma smiled, "Oh, Will, you can leave the dishes for me if you'll give Olivia a bath"

Olivia jumped from her chair and ran to the bathroom, turning on the water to fill up the tub before Will agreed. They both laughed. Olivia loved baths.

"Okay, I better go catch her before she floods the bathroom", Will laughed as he went after his 4 year old.

Emma picked up Addie and put her in the high chair in the kitchen so she could do the dishes. She hummed to herself and heard Olivia giggling in the tub and Adalyn making happy noises behind her. She was so blessed.
