A/N: Just a blurb I had a quick idea for, I figure I'd publish it since I haven't published anything in a while. This is my apology for it being so short!

Lilith lays on her back and stares up at the sky. The clouds creep slowly past as a small breeze catches the grass, tickling her skin. The breeze brings with it the smells of Pandora, a dusty dry scent that seems to crop up no matter where you are on the planet.

As the sun beats down and warms her face, Lilith can't help but wonder if Angel can feel it too, where ever she was. The mysterious dark haired girl who offers abundant help whenever it is needed most. Lilith enjoys talking with her, she can't explain it but she feels a connection to this mystery girl. She didn't tell the others, but sometimes, Angel talks to her and only her. Lilith likes that it is something she can call her own, something she doesn't have to share in the close quarters of the Crimson HQ. She has come to find out what a beautiful person Angel is, someone with thoughts and feelings and troubles, not the AI that they once thought she was.

They talk and giggle and joke late into the nights and it feels like bliss to Lilith. While they are talking she can feel her heart lightening and the stress of the day melting away. But when it's over, reality comes tumbling down and it sits on her chest like a boulder. It feels real to her, as real as anything. Lilith knows how she feels, she knows Angel is her friend, but...

She sees Angel's face when they talk, then it disappears, sometimes for days at a time, and Lilith begins to feel that disconnect that she has tried to deny exists between them. She stares it straight in the face and their connection begins to feel foreign.

Now as she lays in the grass, limbs sprawled in every direction, she closes her eyes and Angel is there. It feels right; the way a friendship is supposed to feel. She opens them and she is alone; the way it really is. Lilith lives in two realities at once.

The clouds creep slowly past and Lilith knows they are the same clouds Angel lives under, the same sky that she looks at and the same moon that rises at night. But it feels separate. The world Angel inhabits does not involve Lilith. It is as if they are part of two separate versions of Pandora and their small communication is just a worm hole that will not get any bigger. Angel will never be closer and Lilith will never see more of her.

Lilith furrows her brows and balls her hands into tight fists. Bringing them to rest on her forehead she lets out a frustrated sigh. Angel is bound by some unseen force, unfathomable to Lilith. Understanding and patient Lilith has tried not to let it show how much it bothers her. She wants to show Angel everything, she wants to share so much but it always seems just out of reach.

Lilith sits up and curls her knees up to her chest. She rips a handful of grass with one hand and holds it out in front of her. The grass falls little by little, a few blades carried by the breeze. There is so much beauty in this world and Lilith is bursting to discover it with Angel next to her. Her one true friend she's found in this desolate place full of killing and violence. Things done out of necessity. Perhaps one day, she will get the chance.

Looking out over the vast sprawling landscape, she watches a Buzzard fly across the sky in the distance. She lets herself fall backwards into the grass once more. Closing her eyes, the breeze picks up again and Lilith lets her thoughts scatter on the wind.
