As Hale watched her sleep, he thought to himself how strange it was to see her face so relaxed and peaceful. During the planning part of a heist, her thoughts never varied from her target. When she didn't have her patented "lost in her own thoughts but completely focused on a future only she could see" face on, she had her "tense but unchanging" poker face in use.

What Hale learned to do was look on the tiny changes. Whether it was a slighter tightening of her mouth, or the width of her eyes, Hale pounced and pondered on the only things that would give a clue to what she was feeling.

No matter how serious she seemed however, Hale knew this was her favourite part. Sure, it was full of stress, anxiety, and nervous breakdowns but it was also filled with careful calculations, exciting challenges, and barriers to be broken down and tested.

The actual job part may seem flashy and exhilarating but the planning is where heroes are born.

Despite all that however, Hale still loved seeing Kat work a con. Its where she seemed to feel most at home, its where she'd have an excited gleam in her eye and a wicked smile on her face, its where he knew she had fun.

As he stared at her face, he couldn't help thinking that watching her actually at ease was pretty nice too.
