because I know someone had to do it. And it's fluffy. I know my poetry is sub-par, so do me a favor and squash all those hopes. I can do haikus, but- those are REALLY short.

Happy Father's Day to all those out there reading.

NO, I don't own CSI: New York.

Daddy's Day

Little Lucy Messer, asleep in her chair
Rocking away without a care
Daddy Messer watched her snooze
Daughter over job he'd willingly choose

Mother Messer came from the lab
Her face clearly showing she was growing mad
Not of children or parents or the county test
But mainly due to lack of rest

She slumped over in the lounge chair
Making a face at those who dared
To unveil a secret from deep within
They shut their mouths- Lindsay wasn't kiddin'

The dad turned to Mom, a quiet smirk
She glanced back at him, a little quirk
"What're the death glares for, sweetheart?"
"I'm not saying- you'll soon find out."

When Godfather walked in, all smiles abound
Mother knew the time was around
She took Daddy by the hand and led him in
Laughing at his expression for the scene for him.

The lab stood there waiting, cake on the table
In big blue and gold letters, in whatever way able
To fit four simple words atop the huge sheet
Don nudged him a little, "C'mon, let's go eat!"

Adam was dishing out drinks all around
With Stella checking on Lucy and muffling the sound
His daughter still lay there, all happy and warm
Until her eyes popped upon- Stella giggled at her form

Hawkes looked up from the table, sighing so softly
"An adorable baby you've got right there, Danny"
He looked pretty proud until he heard a loud sobbing
Sid joked, "She had to wake up and not miss the party."

Out walked the woman, cooing Lucy so gentle
Mac stood next to her, completely sentimental
Suddenly all crying ceased and she giggled so happy
Her eyes wide as saucers, she blurted out "Daddy!"

The room fell quiet, gazes being exchanged
And Danny couldn't help but scoop her into his embrace
"You said your first word!" he laughed, a proud father
Then Flack added, "Yep, that's definitely Messer's daughter."

The party went on for the first crime lab dad
Lindsay kissed him, and he made a little teasing jab
While Mac stood away from the party and murmured
"Happy Father's Day, my friend- Danny Messer."

I'm praying this was adorable for everyone out there. Reviews are enjoyed. Thanks for reading mindless poetic fluff again.
