okay folks this is an excerpt from the story I might write if the idea gets positive feedback. The basic outline is that Seto Kaiba builds a virtual world for the duel monsters. And instead of bring the monsters into this world he is sending people into the virtual one. The girl, "still needs a name" last name= Blake. Is a field researcher, a Zoologist, that is trying to get money for her next project. So she signs up to be a test dumby for the virtual world. Anyways I'd like the duel monsters to be like animals; living, breathing, eating... interacting freely with each other.
So that's the outline. Any advice would be lovely. Thanks!
Kaiba watched the researcher, whose name he couldn't remember, sit down in the simulation chair. It leaned back until she was flat on her back.
"Are you ready miss Blake?" asked a middle aged man in a blue lab coat.
"Let's do it," She replied closing her eyes.
The whirling sound of the machine grew louder as the different parts of the chair snapped into place. Kaiba sighed inwardly, he was drug out of his office for this? A long needle ejected from the chair piercing the girl's skin. Her back arched off the chair as far as her restraints would allow. Kaiba involuntarily flinched. 'Was that supposed to happen?' Her eyes flew open as the liquid drained from the syringe. Kaiba made to step forward.
"System is online," a voice broke his thoughts.
It happened quickly but time seemed to slow as he watched. Her back dropped to the table; her head slumping to the side… lifeless eyes caused him to freeze mid step. It seemed like an eternity had passed before he heard the loud drawn out beep. His eyes darted toward the noise. Her heart monitor was showing flatline. An assistant had appeared by her side to close her eyes
"Standby"
The enormous computer screen lit up, the deafening single beep turned back into a steady rhythm. Kaiba's eyes snapped from the computer screen to the heart monitor and finally back to the table where she lay. He let out a breath he hadn't even realized he was holding. She was breathing normally.
"Mr Kaiba?" The middle aged computer man said a little louder.
Kaiba turned his attention back to the screen. There she was standing at the edge of a cliff. Water rushed by either side her sloshing over the edges of a long rock that hung over the edge; like a diving board.
"What's she gonna do jump?" Kaiba muttered aloud as he retained his cold demeanor.
She took off running, as if she could hear him. He watched with widen eyes as she dove off the cliff.
"I give it an eight," a research assistant behind him said, scoring her diving form.
"Why isn't she resurfacing?" Kaiba demanded a few moments later.
"I thought if she died, she was to wake up."
He looked toward her sleeping form. Then toward the heart monitor. Finally he looked back at the screen. 'Where was she? What's going on?' His eyes searched the screen.
"Five, four, three…"
The calm surface of the lake was broken a little ways from the bottom of the water fall.
"No?!"
The Blue-Eyes White Dragon emerged from the water. It was majestic to say the least but what caught his eye was the girl riding on its back.
