I feel the dawn upon my cheek
It neither burns nor makes me weak
I see my skin lit by it's grace
No tears of pain run down my face
I come down from my bloody rage
a miracle in this dark age
The sun can shine it's light on me
I suffer not...the day is free!
For 600 years I've shied
whenever the morning rooster cried
Where once so long ago I cheered
day wasn't always something I feared.
Where once the moon and stars were mine
I relent into sunshine
No longer a dealer of death in the night
Now I walk among the light
And so he takes my hand and we
travel onward to our destiny.
For so long our bloodlust reigned
with Lycan blood, our hands were stained
Forgetting with ease where we'd begun
Before we drank blood and shied from the sun
Immortal forever we bore out death
Unceasing till we'd heard every Lycan's last breath
We could only imagine the pain that we caused
If only we'd stopped, reconsidered or paused...
I will not deny that I felt affection
For a human who now bore a deadly affliction
half bat and half wolf I had never seen
Now he was hybrid, the first that's ever been.
I drank the blood of our forefather
and much to my surprise, not bother
I became, with no stitch or suture
what he had proclaimed
would be OUR FUTURE...

my first Underworld poem, from Selene's vantage point of course. I'm relatively new to the fandom, so...if I haven't worded it exactly as it was in the movies...you now know why...I'm a newbie...lol
