a/n:Ok so I read a Strictly Ballroom fic by Palis Delon and then read the review by fijiski, and I thought I wish more people would write for this movie; it rocks. I'm currently addicted to Watchmen fics and Supaslim; a phenomenal watchmen author; set up this 10 ficklet challenge. The rules are below. Funny thing; it spread like wildfire…there are like 10 to 15 authors who have done this or are working on it. So I thought, hey, maybe it will work here to…so join me wont you?
1.
Pick a character, pairing, or fandom you like.
2. Turn your music
player on and turn it on random/shuffle.
3. Write a
drabblet/ficlet related to each song that plays. You only have the
time frame of the song to finish the drabble; you start when the song
starts, and stop when it's over. No lingering afterward! No matter
how whacked out your drabble is. :)
4. Do ten of these, then post
them.
In The Air Tonight…Phil Collins
She stands in the entry way, its dark. She is so nervous she can feel her heart beat against her dress. She steps into the light of the dance floor, the lights are blinding, but she can still see Scott. They begin their dance and her nerves settle as muscle memory and hours of rehearsal take over. They are doing it, they are dancing new steps together; it's like magic. Suddenly the music stops. She looks to Scott, confusion is on his face. That voice echoes on the loud speakers "Will Scott Hastings and partner please exit the floor." She looks at Scott; it can't end like this; can it? He releases her, steps backwards, and faces the crowd to bow. She looks away and begins to do likewise, bitterly disappointed. The sound comes from the crowed, clapping; but from where. She turns to see Mr. Hastings clapping rhythmically. The crowed joins. Her pulse races; do they dare? Scott smiles, they've come too far to quit now. She was ready; she was waiting for this moment her whole life.
