Carrie Hope Fletcher and Alex Day fic. I thought there were waaayyy to little fics for this ship and it needed to be done.

Carrie was sitting at home, quitely drinking a nice cup of tea. She was thinking about her recent break up with Alex. She was sad, but kinda glad it was over. He treated her like a princess but made snarky comments now and then and was away often, promoting sopio cards and his Music. He had unfollowed her and her brother on twitter to make it official for the fans but without speaking the actual words. She hadn't told her 'Hopefuls' about the break up because they didn't anounce the relationship publicly anyway. She loved him though. She wasn't afraid to say so.

She went on with her day, not really thinking about it but with this longing. Longing for a hug from Alex, a last kiss from him. She knew she'd never get it, since they probably won't see him again unless while meeting other friends or for business purposes. But the longing stayed.

In the meanwhile, Alex was in the studio. He was re-recording This Kiss, because he was bringing it out on a different album. His newest album. He wanted a new, clean version because since the break up he had been listening to it a lot and didn't want Carrie's voice in there anymore. It was supposed to be a duet, but he didn't care. He sang it alone and missed her.

Carrie was doing some groceries when suddenly she bumped in to Alex, who was doing some shopping too. She wanted to ignore him but that seemed rude, and that's the last thing Carrie wanted to be. So she smiled and nodded, which she thought was enough. But Alex thought about the recording session and how much he actually missed her, so he decided to make some small talk. Carrie didn't mind, was glad actually. They talked about the weather and his recordings. 'Cool' she said. 'What were you recording?' Alex didn't really want to say since it was "This Kiss" which was their song. But he did it anyways. 'It was "This Kiss" actually. I wanted to redo it because of the break up and all.' This hit Carrie harder than she thought it would. He re-recorded This Kiss? But that was their song! The song she listened to when she felt sad and missed him. Tears began to well up. Alex saw that and felt embaressed. What was he thinking re-recording it? It was their song after all. He looked her in het tear set eyes. One tear smoothly glided over her face. He wiped it away. They both forgot they were standing in a supermarket and he leaned in for a kiss.

You can kiss me with the windows open
While the rain comes pouring inside
Kiss me in sweet slow motion
Let's let everything slide
You got me floating, you got me flying
