Chapter 1: A First Time for Everything
Thank you all for reading my story!
Disclaimer: I do not own The Hunger Games and it is rightfully Suzanne Collins. She earned every bit of it!
Amelia stomped her foot and crossed her little chubby arms. Amelia always got what she wanted and wasn't about to give that up now.
"Honey, you know she has to find out about the savages sometime."
"Rory! Look who you're siding with! Amelia cannot watch the games!" Amy jumped back and held back tears after hearing her mommy calling her Amelia, Amelia was her bad name. She didn't understand what the big fuss was about, she was to be a big girl who knew she could watch the Hunger Games like everyone else.
Martha and Rory Noble were the parents of 5-year-old Amelia and they faced a choice, every parent in the Capitol allowed they're children to watch the Hunger Games, the students even got a break for the holiday. Still, it was different for the Nobles, Amy was different, she was special in a way no one could know. Not even her.
Martha sighed and closed her eyes, "Amy go to your room." Amy sniffed loudly, thinking she'd done something wrong and ran into her room.
Amy closed the door behind her sadly. The girl pulled out her dolls and laid them out, they're mommies and daddies probably would have let them watch the Hunger Games.
Amelia woke up the next morning, the night before was a blur. All she had heard last night was raised voices, and Amy had been scared.
Amy sat on the couch, excited for the games to start. She had finally been allowed to watch the Hunger Games. Although, there was one thing Amy didn't understand, why didn't the people Daddy called savages want to be in the Hunger Games?
The chosen people were sometimes happy and triumphant, others were crying. Why would they cry? They had a chance to win the Hunger Games!
But little did I know that the 61st Hunger Games was not a game show where no one died, like my daddy told me. It was a death arena, and I would be a person to help stop it.
I have two things to end this chapter:
1. Sorry the first chapter is short, the rest will be longer. I just have to get the first chapter over with to smooth the awkwardness.
2. Please review, I love a good review (especially critical reviews) and they help me improve my writing a ton!
Thanks so much for reading and I hope you had a great Easter!
