First time doing a fan fiction. Please tell me if I'm doing this alright.
Fairy Tail belongs to the all great and mighty Hiro Mashima!
There once was a kingdom, its name Fiore, ruled by a man by the name of Jude Heartfilia.
He ruled with his wife, Layla Heartfilia.
They had one heir,
With golden hair,
But sadly, she was their only,
As her mother died and left them sad and lonely.
The king turned cold
As he grew old
And never noticed the sadness and hardships that spread like mold.
Little Lucy, Little Lucy,
Left alone to cry her own sea,
Big brown eyes that filled with tears,
Giving 'way her many fears.
She ran away
One cloudy day
And entered the forbidden wood.
Soon lost as one possibly could,
Alone she stood.
Her wails were heard,
Thought quite absurd,
And soon she was sought out.
Soon she saw a big, red dragon's snout.
Too frightened to run,
So simply human,
She stared into his eyes,
Strangely not at all wise,
For his, too, registered surprise.
Silence was broken,
The dragon had spoken,
Why are you alone in the wood?
She did reply, as best she could,
To escape the blanket of despair.
But this wood has led me nowhere.
Once again, the beast spoke,
Do you believe this a dream, from one you have not woke?
It has led you to trees of birch and pine and oak.
It has led you to me,
Do you not see?
She replied, with woe,
Yet it is not where I expected to go.
The dragon smiled, if you'll believe it,
But now, not alone, wouldn't you hate to split?
She thought for a moment,
And away she went,
With the dragon and the kindness he lent.
Soon after,
Much laughter,
Much fun,
What was done, done
The princess with the beast.
Ten years passed at least.
All the while,
The king did no smile,
But fell ill during her self-imposed exile.
They sent all the knights,
Searched many nights,
For their kingdom was soon to be without rule.
On a night that was cool,
As she slept aside her friend,
Their time did come to an end.
A knight did find them,
This find quite the gem,
Until the dragon opened his eyes and stared at them.
He let out a roar,
Like those in folklore,
And did his best to defend.
Sadly, though, that did end,
As they had with them a Mage.
The Mage cast a spell that she had practiced for an age,
One to make the beast mortal.
His red scales did dull,
Pounding in his skull,
Before them now stood a pink-haired man
they took the opportunity and ran.
Try as he did, he could not reach them,
For they had mounted horses, bringing their 'gem'.
After many hours,
He made his way to the castle and it's tall towers,
Ready to bring back his friend.
Though he knew how this would likely end,
The girl he would defend.
Why, you may ask,
Is he so determined for this task?
That would be the growing emotion,
That silly notion,
The one humans call 'love'.
The thing they die because of.
He searched each room,
As danger did loom,
Until he found her locked away, showing much gloom.
Lucy, Lucy!
Im here, you see?
She did not turn her head,
He began to dread,
What if it wasn't Lucy?
Behind him, he did not see,
An arrow was aimed at his back.
As the string finally gave slack,
His vision faded black.
Lucy did not know,
As she was currently being dressed in a dress of snow,
Though the reasons unknown to her.
Tears fell and her vision began to blur.
The maids mistook it for joy,
As she was about to be married to her 'savior' boy.
The pushed her from the room,
To another without gloom,
No darkness did seem to loom.
She ran from the steeple,
Ignored the people,
And came across a man face-down,
She did frown.
Turning him over,
She went pale as a frost-bitten clover,
For this was her friend.
The one that, though he tried to defend,
Left Little Lucy to be alone again in the end.
