Hey everyone, here's another entry for HPFC. The details are at the end.
….
Andromeda slammed the door behind her with a huff, ignoring the thunderstorm outside. She could still hear the screaming going on in the house, and was glad she'd left. Of course there was no going back now, no redemption in her family's eyes. The Blacks were notorious for it anyway…
The nerve of them all! What was wrong with marrying whoever she wanted, even if he was muggleborn? She should have known that they would take it badly, but a small part of her had hoped they'd be happy, for her sake. It would have been nice to see them there with her, supporting her at her wedding. But, of course, that was too much to ask for.
Andromeda sighed, blinking the rain out of her eyes. They'd actually tried to persuade her to call it all off, as if it were that easy to do. Couldn't they see that she loved him too much? Ted Tonks was a good man, and that was precisely the reason she was going to go through with it, family or no. She would never regret it, though. Her family was just too blind to see what really mattered. Well, except Sirius, that is. At least he'd still be around for her.
It still worried at her, no matter how much she tried to ignore it. In their eyes, she'd declared herself an enemy, and she was sure that those Death Eaters would now paint her as a potential target in their attacks. More than anything, that was the worst. Andromeda was almost certain that her sisters would gladly help them take her down, too. It would be impossible to change their minds, which she knew. Her sisters were too overly stubborn to listen to anything once they decided on something. They would have to watch out next time, then; if they even dared to try and attack Ted – that was it. No going back.
Andromeda knew that by now, as she stood outside her mother's front door, that she'd been disowned. There was no question about it; her aunt Walburga was probably enjoying herself as she blasted her niece off that stupid family tapestry her cousins had in their house.
In the end, it would take a long time for her to heal from the hurt her family had dealt her. It was infuriating that they all thought it was okay to do so. Maybe she should go visit Ted, he always knew how to make her smile…
