A/N: Here's another CR drabble-y ficlet. It's assumed that Nate and Tess are already a couple. Not that matters TOO much. Anyway, I really liked how this turned out. It was COOL, because I got this tidbit of an idea a long time ago and then wrote it recently so I wasn't sure it would turn out. Anyway, I'm going to mention the poll again! Please vote. Enjoy! R&R! Thanks! –Mac

Virtue Smirtue

Patience was not one of Tess Tyler's strong points. She would be the first to tell you that. She wanted what she wanted, and she wanted it when she wanted it.

She had auditioned for a role in a movie musical and she was almost certain she had nailed it. Now she just had to wait for the call that would tell her for sure that she got it. It was due to come in at any moment. She just had to wait. And wait……and wait……

Waiting was so frustrating Tess sat at her kitchen counter, her cell phone sitting in front of her. The casting people had said they would be calling people at three. It was already 3:05; and Tess was beginning to freak out. Her patience was waning.

It started with the rhythmic tapping of her fingers on the counter. Then as ten more minutes ticked by, she started to pace the room, her eyes never straying far from her phone. It escalated to her laying out all the reasons why they hadn't called yet—to herself, out loud—before she was distracted by someone else entering the room.

"Trying to burn a hole in the floor?" Nate raised an eyebrow as he approached her.

"Haha," Tess rolled her eyes. "I'm waiting for the casting director to call about my audition. I'm minorly freaking out, I need to know if I got the part."

"You know, patience is a virtue," Nate said, slipping into the seat at the counter Tess had vacated to begin pacing.

"Virtue Smirtue," Tess responded, "Besides it's not as if you're the most patient person on earth."

"I probably am," Nate corrected, "Or at least a close runner-up."

"Oh really?"

"Well, I do put up with Jason, Shane and you twenty-four-seven, and have yet to have a nervous breakdown. That has to count for something," Nate smiled at the expression on Tess's face.

"That's funny," Tess replied sarcastically, "But that doesn't stop me from stressing out over this."

"Maybe if you calmed down and relaxed, time would go by faster," Nate suggested.

"I don't—"

"At least sit down and take a deep breath," Nate pulled out the chair next to his.

Tess sighed but walked over to the seat. Almost the second her body touched the seat her phone began to blast the latest Connect 3 song. Tess frantically grabbed for the phone, answering as Nate watched her.

"Hello? Yes this is her. Yes…I did. I did? Oh my God. No, no. Thank you. Yes, Thank you. I'll see you then. Buh-bye," Tess spoke into the phone, at the last word she clicked he phone closed. She turned to Nate, "I got it!"

"Congratulations," Nate exclaimed, taking her into his arms for a hug and then pulling back to give her a light kiss. "Now that wasn't so bad, was it?"

"Not at all. I should try this patience thing more often," Tess grinned.
