Not Enough
Rain. It always seems to come on sad days, doesn't it? You never see funerals in the bright sun. Even if it is a sunny day, there seems to be a sharp breeze to the air. It sinks in past any clothes, hitting everyone to the bone.
So, it wasn't a surprise that it was raining that day, then. He liked the rain, anyway.
As Light recalled, he stood outside and listened to it, saying some nonsense about bells just before they went inside.
Light has seen him smile that day.
Not his triumphant, teasing smile, but a true, real smile that shocked Light to the core.
To be honest, he was a bit jealous. Even when he came out and admitted straight his love to his face, had he not smiled with that much…joy, purity. He gave something more like a bemused and fascinated stare, only to then return said feelings with as much sincerity as he could put into it.
Which was a lot.
Which was enough to make Light happy.
Which was enough to make Light try and find Rem; to keep Rem from fulfilling what she had agreed to.
Which was not enough.
Which is why the sky was crying. Because Gods cannot.
