Title: A Wedding, A Dress, and A Lie
Who: Scarlette Snape and Narcissa Malfoy
What: Oneshot
Status: Complete

Scarlette met with Narcissa in private. She knew that if Lucius knew what she was up to he would never have allowed it. If he wasn't going to his son's wedding, his wife wasn't either. However, Scarlette was determined to change that. She took every precaution in meeting with her.

"Mrs. M-" Narcissa cut her off. "Come on, Scarlette, I've known you practically your whole life, you're an adult now, you're allowed to call me Narcissa or Cissy, in fact I prefer it." Scarlette gave her a small smile and nodded. "Alright, Narcissa then." Narcissa nodded.

"I have a plan." The older woman frowned. "You always have a plan, Scarlette...I don't think I'm going to like what I'm about to hear." Scarlette shook her head.

"Wednesday." Scar said. Narcissa frowned. "What about it?" "That's the date of the we-" Narcissa cut her off again. "I can't." "Mrs. Malfoy I insist you let me finish." Narcissa frowned, but remained silent.

"I know Draco doesn't want his father, your husband, to attend, and I understand. If it weren't against his wishes I would have already talked Lucius into attending...don't give me that look, you know I have my ways. Anyway...I know that Lucius would not allow you to go unless he was going, and that is your excuse, but I have a better one that'll get you there."

Narcissa started to speak, but Scarlette held up a hand. "Wednesday, you and I are going shopping. Tell him that since Draco started dating Hermione you haven't had enough time to see me and that I suggested we go shopping because I miss spending time with you. Of course he'll suggest something else, like dinner at the Manor or something, but you must insist that you want to spend the day with me elsewhere. Assure him that you won't be spending a lot of money, just a lot of time." Narcissa continued to frown, and Scarlette let her speak.

"I don't like the idea of lying to my husband."

"And I don't like the idea of my best friend's mother not attending his wedding..." Narcissa remained silent. "Get the picture? You have to go...there is no question." Narcissa nodded and stood. "Good, I'll pick you up Wednesday morning then."

"Wednesday morning? I thought the wedding was later in the day?"

Scarlette smirked. "It is...but you won't be lying to your husband, Narcissa. I actually do need to buy a new dress."
