"This wont work Sasuke."
Silence.
"I can't love you."
"But you do."
"I shouldn't love you."
"But you do."
He was standing there looking at her as if she wasn't broken. As if she wasn't broken into a million little pieces, as if he wasn't deranged, and as if...
"If you break me again, I will kill you."
Silence.
"Don't say I wouldn't."
"I didn't say that."
"But you thought it."
She took his silence as another negative point against him. But he didn't think that because he saw her clearly through her green windows. He saw her soul slipping, falling further off the drop with each wrong-doing he did, each hurt he did unto her and with each day. He wondered if he would startle her when he said "I would let you."
He did.
She recovered quickly and gave him a grin, a crooked grin, as if it didn't quite belong there. But he was sure, for just a moment, that he saw her soul catch it's footing and not slip quite so far. "We're crazy and deranged."
"Hn." More and more each day.
"Especially if we think this will work." She was biting her lip and not looking at him anymore.
"Sakura... I..."
She didn't look at him.
"I love you."
Still she didn't turn to look at him. She was crying and smiling and so unbelievably happy that she just couldn't ruin the moment by being annoying.
"And... I probably wont say it often..."
"I know."
"If at all."
This time her green eyes found his and the look nearly drove holes into his skull.
"... Often. But... I will make this work." I have to.
She gave him a broken smile and he almost broke too.
"Hey Sasuke-kun?"
"Hn?"
She threaded her fingers through his and leaned her head on his shoulder. "At least when we both go crazy(break), we'll go together." I'm going to break, break, break.
"Annoying." But he still kissed her forehead lightly. He couldn't keep the promise he wanted to give to her, so he didn't tell her. Because he couldn't fix her. But at least, at the very least, she wouldn't be alone anymore (and neither would he). So he didn't say 'I wont let you break.'. But the silence said 'We'll break together'.
'I wont let you go alone.'
