Chapter.1 Canadian Navy HQ –Halifax

"Sir! Lieutenant Commander Lowell Cores, report as you ordered!" Lowell Cores is a young Canadian that has served in the RCN (Royal Canadian Navy) for almost 5 years. And now he has been resign from Vancouver to Halifax.

"At ease, sailor." Said by one of the old brass that sits in the dark shadow. "This is the third time that you have up for commander of a frigate. Am I right?" "Yes, sir. This is my third time to come up for a command of my own boat. If I fail this time, I will drop from the captain-training program. Sir!" Lowell said it emotionally. Sometimes, when a man got decline for the first time, it won't hurt. Second time, his heart his heart starts to crack. But the third time, the man is going to give up and walk away like a ghost. Lowell sad is not because he didn't get chosen for command a boat, as for a extremely loyalty to his crew. He felt sorry for his crew men, he promise them he will get his boat and pick them as his crew to sail together. Then the old brass stare at him, for almost a minute. But for Lowell, It's like the brass has been staring at him for hours. Finally, the old brass broke the silent. He said, "Mr. Lowell Cores, me and the other admirals has read your personal records. You have joined the Canadian navy for 5 years and your superior officers have sent you to the captain-training program; and you did well in class. But Mr. Lowell, how do we know if this report is entirely of your own making? How do we know that you aren't one of those "paper sailor" that trains by the chief?" It's a hard question to answer. The report is not an own making, but from what the brass has said. The admiral may have found something bad in the report. And this is not a good thing for Lowell. But if he simply said no, the admiral will find a chance to put him back as a little seaman. A loud voice has broken the silent room, "Enough! Admiral Grand, this is not a time for personal judgement! And Mr. Lowell, it is a pleasure to meet you. Your boat that we are talking about will be discuss at 2000 tomorrow, please report here in time. And you're dismissed."
