She ran. Paying no attention to where she was going, she gasped when she came to the cliff's edge. She looked behind her and heard the sound of her pursuer. He shouted her name and she trembled.

"Kagome!" She almost ran back to him but she stopped herself just in time. She had seen him with her best friend. Somehow, she was not surprised that her boyfriend was a cheating son of a bitch.

"Kagome!" he gasped as he came upon the girl at the edge of the cliff.

"Get away from me!" she yelled. He paid no attention to her and kept advancing towards her.

"Kagome. Just hear me out." He said continuing his advances towards her.

"No," he froze at the cold tone in her voice. "I saw her with you. You don't give a shit about my emotions do you? Just go back to your bitch and leave me alone." After dropping that bombshell on him she turned from the edge of the cliff and walked past him. Only after she was out of his earshot did she allow herself to cry.

'Why?' she wondered as she kneeled on the cold dirt.

"Kagome!" her best friend yelled when she found her. Kagome looked up at the woman and was immediately pulled into a hug by her best friend. "What happened?" her best friend asked.

"Inuyasha."

After being brought to Kaede's village by Sango, she fell into a deep sleep. Sango sat next to Miroku. "What happened to her?" Miroku wondered.

"I don't know," Sango sighed. "I just found her crying in the forest. She said it had something to do with Inuyasha."

Just then said half-demon appeared. "Where's Kagome?" he immediately asked.

Sango staggered to her feet. "Leave Kagome alone," she said.

"Get away from the hut, bitch." Inuyasha said. This made Miroku also get to his feet.

"I will not tolerate you showing disrespect towards Sango," he said. "You already show enough disrespect towards Kagome, I can barely tolerate that, but she urged me not to take any action. I have told you that you must not show disrespect towards women, now I will take action against you."

"What the fuck, Miroku?" Inuyasha snapped at him.

"Inuyasha." Everyone looked at Kagome in the door. "Miroku," she snapped. "I've already told you that he's not worth your time."

"Funny," Miroku said. "I don't recall you using those exact words last time you asked me to leave him alone."

"Kagome!" Sango cried out. "Are you okay? I was so worried!"

"I am not okay." Kagome replied with a glance at Inuyasha. He winced as her emotionless gaze landed on him.

"We need to talk," he mumbled out, "as soon as possible."

"I'm sorry?" Kagome said. "I couldn't hear you."

"We need to talk." Inuyasha repeated himself at a louder volume.

"Okay." Kagome said. "Come in."

As soon as the door closed behind him, Inuyasha grabbed Kagome's hand. "I'm so sorry." He told her. She yanked her hand away from his hold.

"What do you want?" she asked him.

"To apologize. I promise it will never happen again."

"How am I supposed to trust you? After all, you already told me that you would always be mine. Does kissing Kikyo in the forest count as always being mine?"

Inuyasha flinched at the obvious anger in her tone. "I don't know what took over me, Kagome. One minute we were just talking and the next, she was kissing me!" Kagome snorted.

"Oh, really?"

"I swear it's the truth!"

"Alright," Kagome said. "I'll believe you just this once. But nothing else like this better happen!"

Inuyasha sighed with relief and kissed his girlfriend. He hoped that he never found out that he initiated the kiss.

Kagome kissed back, but knew in the back of her mind that she could never compete with Inuyasha's first love.

She would simply bide her time and wait for Inuyasha to do something else.
