The Future is Forever

"Smile, the worst is yet to come... But the future is forever... So smile!" - 'Smile', Mikky Ekko

A/N: There's still so much more to come. 100 words. So appropriate that I wrote this only to discover that Supernatural had been picked up for season eleven.

Forevermore

"C'est la vie, c'est la mort. You and me, forevermore" – 'C'est La Mort', The Civil Wars

"Well, that was intense," said Sam, finally catching his breath.

"It's been quite a ride," agreed Dean, concentrating on driving in the dark.

"Yeah, more lows than highs," Sam grumbled.

"So... you wanna call it quits?" asked Dean, struggling to keep his voice light.

"No," said Sam after a moment of reflection. "Maybe once, but... it's who I am, now... it's who we are."

The slight relaxing of Dean's shoulders betrayed his relief. "On to the next case," he grinned, putting his foot down.

The Impala roared down the highway that seemed to stretch out in front of them forever.

Standing Firm Forever

A/N: Sam and Dean's descendants don't care that their heroes have feet of clay. 150 words. A prequel to my previous drabble "Mustn't Linger: In the Year 7510"

"They will be a sign and a wonder to you and your descendants forever" - Deuteronomy 28:46

Dheene and Zhammie loved the ancient stories of their legendary namesakes. Safe behind the intricate sigils of the communal hall's walls they would huddle around the fire and listen to the tales that had been passed down through countless generations.

"One day I'll be a hunter too!" vowed Dheene.

"You wish," Zhammie snorted.

"They weren't perfect," laughed the elder. "One was a trickster who'd take your purse and sleep with your daughter; the other a giant who would strike terror into the hearts of men with his 'bitch face'..."

The young men breathed surprise at this adult interpretation of their heroes.

"...Luckily for us, they forever stand guard as our protectors against evil."

"But surely they couldn't still be alive today?" queried Zhammie, playing devil's advocate.

"Well, the holy texts do say 'those two idjits couldn't stay dead if they tried'," the elder chuckled, with a twinkle in his eye.

"When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone, but the righteous stand firm forever" - Proverbs 10:25
