Side-story to AmazonTurk's Operation: Assassination. Rookie Turk Magni and President Rufus, on a roof-top somewhere. Yeah.

Final Fantasy isn't mine, this 'verse isn't mine... Magni, however, IS mine. Mostly. --;

She came out in a see-through robe that, as intended, hid nothing. Rufus smiled, taking the glass of white wine Magni was carrying before tugging her down to lay beside him. They were on the roof-top, with the moon and stars shining down on them. "You look beautiful tonight," the blond man said quietly.

Magni blushed in the moonlight, taking a sip of the wine. "Thank you," she murmured, and then lapsed into the comfortable silence. She wondered, sometimes, what would happen tomorrow. Not the thing a Turk should be worried about, they planned, but for missions. She found she could see herself, beside Rufus, caring for the child he already had, and possibly more that they might have. Sometimes, she even dared to dream that her brother would be found, alive, that he would join her, that she would have her family back, and even better.

Rufus looked over at the woman beside him. Rolling a little, he supported himself on his elbow, brushing a strand of auburn hair from Magni's face. "What are you thinking about?" he asked gently.

"The future," Magni admitted with a small shrug. "Dreams... hopes. Fears."

Rufus didn't answer, not verbally. He wondered, sometimes, what future he might have, son and president of Shin-ra. He wouldn't mind having Magni beside him, as a Turk if that was all she could be, but he'd rather as a lover. Perhaps more. What were her dreams, her desires... She wouldn't say. Turks, he knew, weren't supposed to have futures, or pasts. They weren't supposed to have lives. Well, that was foolish, impossible, but he wasn't going to force her to tell what she wasn't ready too.

Bending down, placing the glasses safely out of the way, Rufus kissed Magni. Not a President and his Turk, just a man and a woman, merged into one under the stars.

Wow, that was... short. Please review anyway.
