Yeah, I know. I'm bad with updating stories I already have going. Oh well. This comes from recently watching Prince Caspian on Disney XD and feeling dissatisfied with the deplorable lack of Suspian fluff throughout the film. Here is my solution. It's awfully short, and I'm not entirely happy with the ending, but here you have it.
DISCLAIMER: I own only this plot. Susan and - unfortunately - Caspian belong to C.S. Lewis.
Susan the Gentle, High Queen of Narnia, was a terrible wonder to behold in battle.
She did not charge her enemies with ferocity and a gleaming blade. Her arrows flew straight and true, never missing their intended target; as swift as the strike of a viper. There was no hesitation; her face set in grim determination as she took careful aim, her enemies felled like fowl.
Prince Caspian the Tenth kept needless watch on her, his gentle queen, as she shot down soldier after soldier. She seemed unstoppable, a true warrior queen, and had he not been in the midst of battle himself he might have stopped to observe her prowess. As it was, he could catch only glimpses, but those glimpses were more than enough to make him grateful she was on his side.
When the battle had ceased and their enemy lay beaten, he looked upon her again; hair loose to the wind, eyes wide and bright with the fever of battle. She was a terrible wonder to behold, beautiful in her calm resolution. She was every inch the queen he had known her to be and he was suddenly humbled to be anywhere near her vicinity. Despite this, Caspian's muddled feelings were all at once made clear.
For as he stood gazing upon her, High Queen Susan, in all of her grace and strength and utter beauty, he reached the most important conclusion he would ever make in his lifetime.
He loved her.
So.
Thoughts anyone?
