In typical Sarah fashion, I turned a homework assignment into fan fiction. We had to write about love, and since I had no experience, I figured Johnlock would work. Just as a note, the weird capitalization, the allusions and the excessive punctuation were requirements for the assignment :)

goodbye my almost lover

a scorching day in late july.

that's when they met.

at first

it wasn't so much Friendship

or Love

as a meeting of Minds-

two lost Souls that otherwise

had nothing in common-

one tall-

one short.

one genius-

one average.

but there was something there

that neither could ignore-

a Spark.

in the moment it was nothing

but an Interest

in each other-

in one's fascinating tricks-

and in the other's simplicity.

with kaleidoscope eyes

and a rare smile,

old scars

and broken pasts,

they became each other's Everything-

a reason to get up in the morning

and forget what they'd seen

in the Years Before.

with the passing days

and the ardent nights,

they taught each other-

how to think,

how to feel,

how to live-

and then something changed.

that spark in their bones

suddenly reignited

with a fresh flame

of a desperate desire

to be loved-

to have love-

but it was too late.

a short, agonizing

phone call later-

and one was just

a ghost

flickering from view-

and old scars became new.
