Pirates were coming.

The message had arrived earlier that morning; along with the calming note that the pirates in question were the Fenton family. The merchants were putting out their best stuff, the barmaids were cleaning their workplaces, everyone was doing whatever they could to take the guests in properly.

It wasn't that the Fentons were loved in Amity Park. They had a peace treaty with the town. The Fentons would leave the city alone and protect it from more malevolent pirates and in turn the town would provide them with food and other necessary things. That made both sides happy and so it was for many years.

The only people who didn't like that were the Mansons. They would voice their anger whenever they had the chance, bashing the Fentons and everyone directly associated with them.

"They're pirates, for crying out loud!" They always said, barricading their house and waiting, the servants armed to the teeth with guns and swords, and the family hiding in the shelter under the house. It didn't matter that the Fentons had never attacked the town before and that thanks to them Amity Park was one of the safest towns in the whole country.

"They shot at the city!" Jeremy Manson, the forty nine years old patriarch of the Manson family always liked to remind everyone. (And he always got so enraged that he didn't even hear others trying to reason that it was because the Fentons missed an enemy ship and that it had happened only once).

"They are uncivilized barbarians, the lot of them!" Pamela Manson, his wife (who never revealed her age but most suspected she was 45) then usually added, wrinkling her nose.

Their only child, Samantha Manson (who secretly hated her name) would roll her eyes at her parent's antics. She and her grandmother, Ida Manson didn't mind the pirates. She had never met with them in person, but she had heard that they were nice, especially their kids, and that made her want to at least see them even more.

So when the white sail of Specter, their ship, appeared by the horizon, Samantha secretly sneaked out of the house and left to the docks.

AN: This is a try-out to see if anybody would like for me to keep writing. It's kind of on the short side, but I can promise that future chapters would be much longer! Also I'm sort of looking for a Beta, heh. I'm not exactly a native English speaker. (If interested, PM me!) Alright, long a/n, so I'll end here.
