She got over Somalia. Or so it seemed. But underneath the façade, Ziva David was dying inside. She had been tortured, raped, and everything else by Saleem. To make matters worse, Tony said he couldn't live without her.

When Ziva got back to her apartment, all she could think to do was try to find a way to ease her pain. She took a razor blade and started to cut into her wrist.

'What am I doing?' She thought. She was in deep pain, physical and mental, and this was her only way to forget it.

She went to see Tony. Why, she didn't know. It was almost as much his fault as Saleem's or her father's. When she got to Tony's place, she didn't care if he saw the blood running down her arm.

When Tony opened his door, he was shocked when he saw the blood running down Ziva's arm.

"Hi, Tony. May I come in?" Ziva didn't bother to wait for his answer, but walked in anyway.

'You come to me with scars on your wrist. You tell me this will be the last night feeling like this.'

"Ziva, what the hell did you do?"

"What does it look like I did?"

"Why?"

"After the hell that I was in, I felt no way out. I'm here to say good-bye."

"Good-bye?" Tony couldn't believe it. "Where are you going?"

"Away from it all. I cannot take it anymore. After what Saleem did to me, I think I'll never be the same."

'I just came to say good-bye. Didn't want you to see me cry. I'm fine.'

'But I know it's a lie.'

"Listen to me, Ziva. The past is best left in the past. You're a strong woman. You can take more than anyone I've ever seen. But if you think I'm gonna let you kill yourself, you're damn wrong. I can't live without you, Ziva."

"What are you saying, Tony?"

Tony quoted the song he had been listening to before Ziva showed up. "This is the last night you'll spend alone. Look me in the eyes so I know you know I'm everywhere you want me to be. The last night you'll spend alone. I'll wrap you in my arms and I won't let go. I'm everything you need me to be."

Ziva looked at Tony, not knowing what to say. So, she just hugged him, asking, "Do you mean that?"

"Of course. There's no way in hell I'm letting you go through this alone. Understand?"

Ziva nodded, and Tony knew she understood. She was not alone. She would never be alone as long as Anthony DiNozzo was breathing and able to make her forget. She kissed him, and the rest, as they say, is history.

'The night is so long when everything's wrong. If you give me your hand, I will help you hold on. I won't let you say goodbye and I'll be your reason why. The last night away from me.'
