The 'What Ifs' of Life
Prologue:
PART ONE
"James, what are you doing," growled an angry redhead, who wasn't ready to be messed with just yet. "I'm only having a little fun," retorted the fifteen-year-old boy who began to smirk before he added a further comment, or rather a question: "Why don't you try it some time, Rose?" A mischievous spark appeared in his brown eyes. "James…Don't you dare," shouted Rose Weasley in an attempt to stop her cousin from doing something bad. He was always up to no good. He definitely lived up to his namesake, James Potter the First.
He was always wounding himself into trouble and because Rose was forever trying to stop him, she always got roped into whatever dung he landed himself into. He had one of the highest detentions ever recorded in a year at a time. McGonagall had a soft spot for him and that was no secret at all. Perhaps it had to do with the Marauders, first generation, or maybe that James brought the spark back to Hogwarts. He made the students feel alive in a way they never had.
McGonagall would fondly smile at him in secret even when she was supposed to be scolding him for his recent actions. He knew she would never be truly mad at him. She could give him detention, the one thing he was after, or she could let him go. Either way he won. His mother, Ginny, was never pleased with the news of another detention. Harry would always secretly praise him, saying that he was just being a teenager and he didn't expect anything less of him.
What if they had never been the ending to Harry Potter? What if James Sirius Potter had never gotten into trouble that much because he had never been born?
This had been like an utterly perfect ending to the hard life that Harry Potter had lived. He fought for the peace they now had and he had fought for a World that would be fit for raising children in.
What if Harry Potter had never had children though because he never married Ginny Weasley?
What if Hermione Granger, too, had never fallen in love with Ron Weasley?
What if their families had never been claimed the 'Potter-Weasley' clan as they had ceased to exist due to their parents never marrying? In a sense that even Percy Weasley had never married his wife either.
If this were the case, Rose Weasley wouldn't have been pestering her cousin on this occasion to do as he was told, just as she had every other occasion, because they both had never been born.
What if somebody had gone back and changed one little thing in the universe of Harry Potter? How much else would change as well in its place?
