I don't own MMPPP.
A rose, fastened to a purple ribbon, strung its way through Caren's hair.
Strings of pearls weaved into Noel's own.
The twins stared at each other - they looked so similar it was odd.
But one wore the crown to the Arctic Ocean; the other the Antarctic. They stared in a moment of silence at each other.
"So this is it, hm?" Noel broke the silence. They would never see each other again.
"Ahn." Caren's eyes bore holes into the wall; if she looked at her sister, she'd break down.
"Ahn." Noel took one last glance at her sister, wiped tears from her eyes, and swam away.
Caren collapsed on the floor, feeling so traumatized it wasn't funny. It felt like she hadn't even known her sister for 3 months; all of her memories of the Arctic princess fading away already. How long had she wished that she could meet her sister? And how had she only ended up meeting her and learning her name?
Of course. She thought she had so much time to learn about her.
---
Noel clung to herself, bawling in her locked room.
Had she not even realized that she assumed she'd get around to learning about Caren later? Had she really thought she could save the sea first?
Of course not. She was a loving and caring older sister, right?
Wrong.
Noel continued to sob her eyes out, unhappy with life in general.
---
"But I don't want to!" Caren cried helplessly.
Her mother, the Queen of both the Antarctic and the Arctic Oceans, stared at her and stated lightly, "It's better this way."
Tears sprang from the Purple Princess' eyes. "But.. I don't want to leave!"
"You must."
"...!"
Several maids, at her mother's command, took her away.
They were almost outside, but then a certain Deep Blue Princess stopped them.
"Mother," Noel attempted to speak softly, "I would like to take Caren's place instead."
Caren stared in horror at her older sister, who was obviously going through so much pain it wasn't exactly funny.
The Queen glared slightly. "That's absolutely not funny."
"No, it's alright, mother," Noel went on quickly.
"Well."
"Really, why not..!"
"Alright, then."
Noel's face brightened half-heartedly. Caren gawked in horror.
"Wh..What?!"
"But of course, if that's the case," A maid said helpfully, "You should find Caren-sama a new suitor, Kaori-dono."
"Ah. Of course."
Noel frowned at seeing her efforts be smashed into bits.
