"Danny, you don't have to carry me everywhere," she insisted, before he swept her up into his arms anyway.
"You sprained your ankle in those stupid high heels, when we came back from dinner," he said, "And the doctor said you needed to stay off your feet as much as possible."
Sighing she laid her head on his shoulder as he carried her up the stairs to their apartment, her ankle really was throbbing, but she hated feeling helpless.
"Besides, you're carrying my kid, the least I can do is carry you," he said softly.
Lindsay giggled, "Honey the baby is the size a peanut. She is hardly weighing me down yet."
"He," he corrected her, "And will you quit complainin' and let me do my part?"
She leaned forward and kissed his cheek, "I love you."
"Yeah, yeah," he grumbled, "Just open the door will ya?"
