He got up to get his bag from the overhead storage compartment the moment that the stewardess gave the all clear signal. His flight had just made touchdown at the Tokyo international airport, and he was thankful to be out of the plane and able to stretch his legs once again.
Japan was a rather new and interesting place to him, and as such he would waste no time in absorbing in as much of the local culture as he could. Of course, there was something oddly familiar about every country and place that he ever visits, but that is something that he had gotten used to by now.
He submitted his passport and travel papers, then went on to acquire his luggage. Such cumbersome necessities irked him, and he would have wished nothing more than to do away with them all. But such things were useful for keeping up appearances.
After going through the rest of the paperwork and exiting the airport terminal, he took his luggage and began looking for an available taxi. A multitude of people were competing with him for a cab, however, and it would probably be some time before he could successfully flag one down amidst all the other desperate arrivals.
But the day was rather bright and crisp, and he was thankful that Mother Nature was on his side for once. But all that meant was that he wouldn't have to lift a finger in rectifying the situation, and he quickly grew tired of having to go against the rules. It always took the fun away from travelling whenever he had to use "that".
He scanned the horizon, and gauged his chances of being able to hail this or that cab that came into view at any given time.
Something else caught his eye instead. Something that instantly rang alarm bells in his head. It was sitting on the rack of a street vendor's store. He promptly forgot about acquiring a cab and walked over to that which had piqued his interest.
The item in question was a CD, apparently of some low-budget film apparently done by some high school club. It was put up on rock-bottom bargain sale. Given the production values, he wasn't surprised.
"The SOS-dan, huh?" he smirked. It amazed him that such a shoddy project would actually be put up on sale for such a high original price. The vendor had supplanted the original price tag with his own knocked down price, but he could make out enough of the original price to conclude that it was sheer highway robbery.
But cheap clubroom projects were of little interest to him. What attracted his attention was the one girl whose picture on the CD cover alerted him to something he had almost forgotten.
"Well now….." he quietly wondered. It seems that not only mother nature, but lady luck was on his side. He had found something he had long been looking for.
It was definitely her. Even if she had regressed in age to that of a teenage girl, he was certain that it was indeed her. It now seemed that he would have to use "that" after all.
All other urges and interests where now supplanted by one single purpose. To meet her and make her his once again. He quivered in anticipation.
After all, he hadn't seen her in over 3 billion years…………
