A/N:  This is my first MR fic.  Please don't be too harsh.  I know similar things were written, but this is my take on it.

To Satine, my Sparkling Diamond

from Christian

who in terms of money is penniless,

in terms of love - the richest man alive

Satine.

Even your name is beautiful.

Your name brings memories sparkling before my eyes,

refreshing my hurting mind.

Those memories that bring both Joy and Pain -

The joy of loving you, the pain of losing you.

How can I put in to words my love for you?

Our love, a love that will last a lifetime.

Without you, Satine, the Moulin Rouge no longer sparkles.

the loss of you is too great to bear

You told me to move on,

to write our story

The story about a time, a place, a love that could conquer all loves.

The Bohemian ideals that run through us all,

the blood of our existence, our reason for living

Truth, Beauty, Freedom, LOVE

And you, my darling Satine,

you ARE the Bohemian ideal.

You are the truth, the beauty, the freedom, the love

The truth of your feelings, your exquisite beauty, the freedom I felt in loving you, the love we shared

You are what we all strive to live by

And I,

I was so lucky to be the one man this courtesan could ever love.

How did I live before you?

Without you in my life,

how did I get through each day?

But with you by my side,

my life was complete.

Now you are gone

Forever.

It isn't fair

to me, to the Moulin Rouge, to the Bohemian Revolution.

You should not be gone

How can you be gone?

With you in my arms, nothing else mattered.

But now you are gone...

There is a constant longing in my heart, the desire for my true love

But no, it is not to be

You say I should keep going,

write our story

But that would be too easy

by being too hard

It would not make you return

How would it help me?

Toulouse says it would clear my mind

Let me let you go

If you love somebody set them free...

You've told me to let you go

I've written our story

And now I understand

How hard it is to love

But you, Satine

You made my life what it is, what it will be

My Sparkling Diamond,

though you are gone,

You will live on forever

in the Moulin Rouge,

in our minds,

but most of all,

in our hearts.

Come what may, Satine

I will love you until  the end of time.
