Come back to me
Hi, y'all. I swear I'm working on something funny and silly, but this is not it. I've been dipped in the angst well and forgot my water wings…
This is the 1st in line for the USS Caryl emotion prompt challenge. I'll leave it to you, the reader, to tell me the emotions that are here.
Carol and Caryl on… Brightest Blessings
Come back to me.
Time is lost as days blend
Night and day, the only keepers of the old world now
Searching for lost friends, family, loved ones
Hunting clues, finding meaning in meaningless things
Come back to me
He whispers to the wind
Wanting the words to reach, to find
Her
Hunger, thirst, sleep have no place
In his desperate hunt
Come back to me
Echoes of her voice, her laugh
Guiding his way
Heavy is his heart, his soul
Memories of soft touches and smiles
Of blue eyes and silver halos
Memories of love never spoken, but shared
Come back to me
Desires, needs, wants left unfilled
Except in dreams
Dreams of family, of a life, of joy
Dreams of bodies striving to be one
Dreams of her, of him, of them
Come back to me
His skills make a mockery of him now
What was once his sanctuary, now his foe
What burns within him, will not be contained
Anger has no power
No power to protect him
To hide him
Anger cowers from the light of her
Come back to me
Bread crumb trails
Show him the way
False starts, false hope
False promises he has made
Searching for the one truth he knows
Has known, yet kept hidden
Come back to me
With a hunters focus
He will search, he will seek
He will never stop
He will find her
In this world
Or the next
Come back to me
I miss you
Come back to me
Share my life
Come back to me
Share your love
Come back to me
I am nothing without you
Come back to me
I am afraid
Come back to me
I can't do this without you
Come back to me
I love you
Come back to me
Come back to me
This was inspired in large part by the Ent song in LOTR. I have never heard anything so full of longing and I find it simply beautiful.
Ent's song about the loss of their Wives)
"Ent:
'When Spring unfolds the beechen leaf,
and sap is in the bough;
When light is on the wild-wood stream,
and wind is on the brow;
When stride is long, and breath is deep,
and keen on the mountain-air,
Come back to me! come back to me,
and say my land is fair!'
'When Summer lies upon the world,
and in a noon of gold
Beneath the roof of sleeping leaves
the dreams of trees unfold;
When woodland halls are green and cool,
and wind is in the West,
Come back to m! Come back to me,
and say my land is best!'
