The time was late when a messenger from Gladriel woke Shadownia Duskweaver in her private bedchambers. She threw on her black leather armor and made the long climb up to where Lady Gladriel awaited her presence. There, the Lady of the Golden Woods sat serenely as ever, pleasant expression on her face as she greeted the dark she-elf.
"You summoned me, Mother," Shadownia muttered. Shadownia hated the fact that her mother was Gladriel and how she treated her like some prized princess. Her mother always expected her to save the world one day and was overprotective of her.
"My dear daughter, Princess Shadownia Duskweaver," Gladriel began with a superior sounding voice. "I just received a message from Elron in Riverdale that there is to be a secret meeting that will decide the fate of all of Middle Earth. You are to be our emissary as it is your destiny to save the world from the vile darkness of the dreaded abomination, Sauron."
"But, Mother, how can you send me away at a time like this? I still have much to learn of my mysterious abilities." Shadownia protested angerly. "Besides, everyone will just think of me as a monster, not some savior."
"Nonsense," Gladriel chided. "The wisest among them know the prophesy that you are to shape the world and rid it once and for all of the Dark Lord." Placing her hands on her daughter's slender shoulders, Gladriel continued her haughty lecture. "Go now with the emissary from Murkwood, Legolass Greenleaf, and stay safe. I love you dearly even if my husband, Keleborn hates your guts and insists on kicking you out for being my illegitimate lovechild. Be off with you before he changes his mind and has you sold off as a slave to the evil dwarves to the west!"
With that, Shadownia prepared to make her way to Riverdale with her mysterious traveling partner, Legolass Greenleaf of Murkwood.
