Harry believed wholeheartedly in Dumbledore. And he said he believed in Harry just the same. But, then why did the man turn his back on Harry during his fifth year? Why was he shut out? What did Harry do to deserve this? Had it been because he was unable to save Cedric from the killing curse?
This wasn't anything strange to Harry, but it was given to him with no explanation. He wasn't given one in the beginning of his fifth year, nor in the middle when the changes were taking place and that horrid woman Umbridge was deemed a better fit for this school than him. Nor here, at the end. With all the camera's flashing in the Ministry. With all the headlines finally proclaiming that he and Dumbledore were innocent. His faith had been in the hands of Dumbledore. And he had broken it.
No explanation was given when one of Harry's closest connections to his parents was blasted through the veil because of the killing curse, his body becoming wisps of white that were sucked into it. No explanation was given to him after he chased Bellatrix, his anger and faith in himself breaking when he was unable to cast the curse. Even as the Minister saw Voldemort and his followers as they fled, the proclamation of their innocence meant nothing.
His faith remained broken as they left the Ministry. It boiled into not feeling anything other than acceptance and slow burning anger as Harry packed his trunk, as Dumbledore spoke with him, finally explaining everything to him. The small piece of Voldemort inside of him? Harry should have known right then that it meant something, but why ask more questions when your faith is broken and you have so little to cling to and fix it?
He left Hogwarts, surrounded by his friends, when faith came back. When his friends vowed to fight with him, for him and for everyone to stop Voldemort. They were where his faith now lie, with his friends. And that was where it would belong.
