Soul didn't even understand why she insisted on dragging him here. It was just another one of Kid's extravagant parties where everyone stood around chatting and laughing in clothes that were extremely stiff and uncomfortable, making small talk about things like the weather. I mean, come on. When you have nothing as a conversation starter but the weather, you know you suck at being social. But the girl approaching him didn't seem to share the same opinion. She was fairly attractive, chocolate brown hair curled into ringlets and a nice dress. "Lovely weather tonight, isn't it?" She asked calmly. Soul cringed. Weather. What fun.

"Yeah. Best ever." He grumbled. Everyone he had talked to tonight had brought up the weather, and she wasn't an exception. But what did he expect at a fancy party? Everyone lost their sense of humor. Except for Blackstar and Patti, that is. But honestly, he didn't feel like getting involved with Blackstar's antics, and Patti's mindless babbling would drive him insane. The girl kept chattering away and he sighed. After what seemed like forever, she finally left. Soul stood quietly in the corner, watching Maka from afar. She looked nice. Nicer than nice in her foresty green dress. It went perfectly with her eyes, and he had to admit, she looked quite attractive. It almost made up for her lack of a chest.

Maka had been chopping him less lately. The other day, he called her Tiny Tits, and she just looked up and scowled, even though she had been reading a huge novel. It's not that he missed the painful dent it left in his skull, but he wondered why she hadn't attacked him viciously like she usually would have. As he stood, hands in his pockets, he noticed her walking his way.

"Hey Soul." She said coolly.

"Hey Tiny Tits." He replied. She flinched and sent him a glare, but said nothing. "Lovely weather we're having." He said.

"All the things to talk about in the world, and you choose the weather. Can you get any less creative?" She rolled her eyes and leaned against the wall.

"Hey, how much longer is this party going to last?" He asked.

"No idea. Normally I love Kid's parties, but I'm just tired and bored now." Maka crossed her arms.

"Well we could ditch." Soul suggested.

"Soul!" She exclaimed. "As much as that sounds appealing right now, Kid is our friend, and it would be mean to leave without saying anything." She sighed.

"So let's tell him we're leaving." He didn't wait for her to answer, he just dragged her over to where Kid was standing in the center of the room.

"Hey Kiddo! Thanks for inviting us, but we're gonna leave now, we had a great time!" Soul said cheerily. Kid nodded and waved goodbye, and Soul dragged Maka out the door.

"Now was that all that hard?" Soul smirked at her.

As they walked home, Soul stopped. "Hey Maka, wait a minute." He called.

"What's wrong?"

"The weather really is nice." He said firmly.

"Right."

"No, really. Look up."

They both looked up, in all honesty, it was a really nice night. The sky was clear, and you could see the stars glittering above perfectly.
"I guess it is nice." She smiled.

"I guess you look nice too, Tiny Tits." He flashed her a toothy grin.

"Hey! What's that supposed to mean?" She snarled.

"Oh come on, I complimented you!" He laughed.

"While insulting me!" She growled.

"Just accept the compliment."

And she did. Because in all honesty, she didn't really mind it all that much anymore.
