(Norway to Denmark)

once I was the wild,
wild white shores of the fjords dashed in wild wite
fresh fallen snow;
foreverlasting winter nights,

once I was the wild-child of the nature unconquered and
once I roamed about (king and queen and freeman)
(and lord of my land)

until the longships,
stirring the ocean into thick ink that poured on the contracts that bound me to you,

wild,

wild in the way I was not wild, and I buried my sagas under the pebbles of the beach most far north,
where the wolves become lapland and the boundaries-

wild,
like your eyes when your flags when they burned against the loving icefields
like the moment I knew we had a path of ravens to walk together ahead of us,
pure like freshfallensnow on the graves of the Vanir.

But you and me are time and
(king and queen and freeman)
endless
(wild)
unconquered.
