Just love Colleen and Danny and Ward

Iron Fist doesn't belong to me

Asking

"Don't worry," Ward smiled at Danny. "I'll take good care of Rand."

"I know you will," Danny told his friend.

"I've been meaning to say," Ward suddenly turned serious, "I'm sorry for having you committed."

"You forgot trying to kill me," Danny reminded him.

"For that too," Ward sighed, "and everything else. I wish I could say that Dad made me do it but I knew that it was you from the beginning and …"

"I understand," Danny told him. "It must have been hard when I returned and upset all your lives."

"Thanks Danny," Ward said. He wanted to add something about Joy but it still hurt that his sister was still refusing to see him or even speak to him. He hoped she would see in time that all he'd ever wanted to do was to protect her.

"Are you sure about going back to K'un-L'un?" he asked instead. "I'm sorry, but I don't really see why you have to do it."

"I'm the Iron Fist," Danny told him simply, "protector of K'un-L'un. The path is now open meaning that anyone can get in, they could be in danger and I'm only one who can help them."

"I won't even pretend that I understand what that means but I hope it won't take another fifteen years before the path open so that you can return."

Danny shook his head. He honestly hadn't thought about the path closing and his not being able to return whenever he wanted but he figured he would deal with that when the time came.

He left the Rand building and made his way to Joe's; Claire that told him that it had the best pizza in New York.

He had made his decision to go back to K'un-L'un that morning as he'd made his way to the office and he hadn't yet spoken to Colleen about it. He knew what he wanted to do – he wanted to face Lei Kung and explain why he'd left as he had and to finish his training but he also wanted to be with Colleen. He just didn't see how those two things could happen. Obviously in order to see Lei Kung he needed to go back …but Colleen lived in New York and there was no way she would be willing to leave her home and go with him to parts unknown.

You'll never know until you ask, a voice told him.

He opened the door to Joe's and made his way to the counter and placed his order.

He would ask her, that's the only thing that he could do really, and hope to God that she said yes; because he couldn't see any other way and truth be told he really didn't want to go back to K'un-L'un unless she went with him. Maybe Davos was right, maybe he really was a sap but for the first time in his life everything felt right and he wasn't just going to give that up without a fight.

Danny took another step until he was standing infront of Colleen. He looked at the floor – it was now or never. He shook his head slightly and said hesitantly, "I was kind of hoping that you'd come with me." He was fearful of her answer and looked at her, waiting for her to speak; he was almost taken aback by the force of her hug.

Everything was going to be alright. For now at least. He couldn't wait to show her K'un-L'un.
